چکیده
Abstract Integration of reaction and separation is attractive in production biobased oligomers short polymers from polysaccharides proteins via catalytic degradation. The challenge lies controlling the molar mass distribution. Theoretical analysis for process integration performed conventional CSTR, a multifunctional reactor, reactor-separator-recycle processes. Closed-form solutions balance equations are obtained coupled serial-parallel first-order reactions. influence separators’ cut-off range sharpness on feasible operating parameter performance visualized. It found that membrane reactor may be less productive than CSTR if total concentration limited. An additional separator to recycle solvent significantly improves purity productivity. Solvent recycling decouples feed rate residence time product molecules. To maximize productivity, no molecules should retained whereas recycled can impure.

Degradation of high-molar-mass hyaluronan and characterization of fragments.
A sample of high-molar mass hyaluronan was oxidized by seven oxidative systems involving hydrogen peroxide, cupric chloride, ascorbic acid, and sodium hypochlorite in different concentrations and combinations. The process of the oxidative degradation of hyaluronan was monitored by rotational viscometry, while the fragments produced were investigated by size-exclusion chromatography, matrix-assi...
متن کاملCellulose degradation in pulp fibers studied as changes in molar mass distributions
In this thesis, size-exclusion chromatography (SEC) of wood polymers dissolved in lithium chloride/N,N-dimethylacetamide (LiCl/DMAc) has been used to characterize the molar mass distributions (MMD) of wood polymers in pulp fibers after chemical degradation. Characterization of birch kraft pulps subjected to ozone degradation and acid hydrolysis, respectively, rendered different changes in the M...

متن کاملToward Understanding Amines and Their Degradation Products from Postcombustion CO2 Capture Processes with Aerosol Mass Spectrometry
Amine-based postcombustion CO2 capture (PCCC) is a promising technique for reducing CO2 emissions from fossil fuel burning plants. A concern of the technique, however, is the emission of amines and their degradation byproducts. To assess the environmental risk of this technique, standardized stack sampling and analytical methods are needed. Here we report on the development of an integrated app...
